Scratch My Belly: Oh My, Furs and Whiskers! Spanky was hoping to check in yesterday for National Dog Day, but got held up. He's really hoping you all enjoyed the day with your best friends. Spanky is an 8 year old Shih Tzu mix who happens to be a good friend of mine. He came to PAWS as an owner surrender and is hoping to be ready soon for a new home. Spanky has declared himself the official spokesperson for PAWS' dog foster program. He is himself a beneficiary of a short term foster and couldn't be more grateful to be in a home. Spanky has a heart murmur and is staying temporarily with a loving family while he awaits his echocardiogram. PAWS is always looking for short term fosters for overflow, dogs with medical issues or longer stay pups. We provide food, medical care and supplies for animals in foster. A stay may be as short as a few days, a few weeks or longer term.
