A Summer Place! Charlie is a sweet and social 7 year old Japanese Chin mix who is still looking for someone to spend good times with. Charlie loves riding in the car and being out and about and has recently been out on adventures with one of his volunteer buddies. He has been at the shelter for some time and thoroughly enjoys his times away. Due to a bad prior experience, he's highly stressed by other dogs and would need someone sensitive to his needs and willing to work on his attention skills and give him some guidance. Charlie does have some handling sensitivities and would do best with a single experienced adult household. He needs someone to gain his trust and allow him to show his vulnerabilities. In the stressful shelter environment, Charlie tends to build a bit of a wall and that can make him more difficult to read. He shows his softer side to his friends. When he trusts you he will weather storms by sitting in your lap, cuddling and enjoying gentle attention. Charlie has been at the shelter for far too long and needs that special someone to give him a chance at a new start. He will reward you by being a wonderful copilot, companion and cuddle buddy.
